Setting Boundaries with Service Obligations and Protecting Ourselves from Invisible and Emotional Labor with Lanethea Mathews-Schultz
Can you believe it’s nearing the end of week three already? I hope you are doing well so far this semester. As a reminder, the Muhlenberg Center for Teaching and Learning (MCTL) is here to support you. The board is working on some broader campus programming in addition to the Teachers in Community Lunch and Conversation Series to provide opportunities for reflection and casual connection.
We hope you can join us for our first New Faculty Orientation (NFO) event about Setting Boundaries with Service Obligations and Protecting Ourselves from Invisible and Emotional Labor with Lanethea Mathews-Schultz (Political Science) on Thursday, 2/16 from 3-4 pm in Seegers 108. We will have a broad conversation about service obligations for new faculty, define and provide examples of invisible labor and emotional labor, and strategize how to set boundaries and protect the time of new faculty. Light refreshments will be served.
If you plan to attend this session, please RSVP to Cristina Gonzalez (MCTL Admin) by Friday, 2/10. For those unable to attend this event in person, a zoom link will be provided upon request.
