To reduce the amount of time spent going back and forth with students around scheduling a meeting, I have used the Gmail “Template” function to respond to student requests to meet. Basically, I have a template set up that shows my regular open office hours and contains a link to my google calendar, which has open appointment slots posted. Once a student signs up, it automatically goes into my calendar. Consequently, I spend very little time anymore trying to find time to meet with students. You can find the template option at the three dots in the bottom right corner of your email.
