For science folks, use of an electronic laboratory notebook platform for students has made the notebook grading process much less painful. One can quickly navigate between different student experiments and notebooks, see time stamps (to make sure data were entered during lab and not afterward), and make comments directly in each notebook. Some of the science departments are using LabArchives, which is now integrated with Canvas (so you can use SpeedGrader to grade reports/notebooks.)
On November 12, 2019 Muhlenberg colleagues gathered to share their teaching hacks. Teaching hacks are relatively simple strategies that we might use to improve student learning or reduce our workload. These strategies might free up additional class time, increase the efficiency of our practices, or better support our ability to work on scholarship or service.
